by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

There's material yoga, and there's spiritual yoga. The material kind will make us feel more peaceful, limber, and healthy. That is, basically works on the body and mind. Spiritual yoga goes further to reach the soul, and teaches us how to attain a state of ever-increasing spiritual pleasure.

In this book, Srila Prabhupada teaches the path of spiritual yoga, Krishna consciousness, elaborating on the instructions a divine king named Rishabhadeva imparted to His sons long, long ago in India.

71 pages

The Topmost Yoga System

by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

There are many different types of yoga. Yoga means the system, and yogi means the person who practises the system. The object of yoga, the ultimate goal, is to understand Krishna. Therefore Krishna consciousness means to practice the topmost type of yoga.

This topmost yoga system was described by Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita to His most intimate friend Arjuna. In this book Srila Prabhupada expands this idea for the benefit of society at large.

Although there are many types of yoga practice, the Vedic literature explains that no matter which practice you choose, success is only achieved when bhakti is present.

What is bhakti-yoga, and how can you add it to your life or your current yoga practice? As bhakti is a pivotal element in any yogic or religious practice, it is known as the topmost yoga. In the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna explains bhakti-yoga to his dear friend Arjuna, and here Srila Prabhupada expands these concepts in this introductory text.

112 pages, 4" x 7"

Path of Perfection

by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

In this collection of historic talks on the (astanga) yoga process set forth by Lord Sri Krsna in the sixth and eighth chapters of the Bhagavad-gita, Srila Prabhupada deeply probes the nature of consciousness, meditation, karma, death, and reincarnation. Ultimately he describes in detail the process of bhakti-yoga, by which one can easily purify the mind and elevate the consciousness to a state of ultimate peace and happiness.

According to the astanga-yoga system, first of all one has to control the senses, follow all the rules and regulations, practice the sitting posture and the breathing process, concentrate the mind on the form of Visnu within the heart, and then become absorbed in that form. Arjuna says quite frankly that this astanga-yoga system is very difficult. Indeed, he says that it "appears impractical and unendurable to me."

Price: $2.95

Perfection of Yoga

by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

What does it mean to practice yoga perfectly? Is it possible today?

In The Perfection of Yoga, Srila Prabhupada cuts through the commercialism that now clouds the real meaning of yoga. He explains that beyond postures and exercises, beyond even meditation and breathing techniques, the ancient teachings of yoga aim at achieving lasting loving union with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna.

In the Bhagavad-gita, Sri Krishna teaches Arjuna directly the perfection of yoga. It is certainly remarkable that the perfection of yoga was taught in the middle of a battlefield. It was taught to Arjuna, the warrior, just before he was to engage in a ghastly fratricidal battle.

Price: $1.95
